Do not wear high heels/ Trage keine hochhackigen Schuhe

You know the cliches:

“Every girl should have at least one pair of high heels” but if you are a feminist you are not allowed to wear them.

I posted this afternoon that I got my first pair of high heels and got a shocked answer from a feminist lady who rather had that I joked.

Well, I have not! We are going to marry next month and I have chosen a simple but elegant dress that does not work without heels.

I have never worn any as I prefer trousers and comfortable boots or trainers but what the heck!

Haven’t the strong ladies who fought for women’s right before my time and in my time fought for the right to chose what women want?

If I decide to wear high heels it is my choice and no one ~ and I emphasise “NO ONE” ~ not even a good meaning feminist ~ will tell me what to wear!

 

Ihr kennt die Cliches:

“Jedes Maedchen sollte wenigstens ein paar hochhackige Schuhe besitzen” aber wenn Du eine Feministin bist, darfst Du keine tragen.

Ich habe heute nachmittag auf Twitter geschrieben, dass ich mein erstes Paar hochhackige Schuhe erstanden habe und eine feministische Dame antwortete mir, dass es ihr lieber waere, ich meinte das ironisch.

Tja, ich meinte das durchaus nicht ironisch! Wir werden naechsten Monat heiraten und ich habe ein sehr elegantes Kleid gewaehlt, das ohne hochhackige Schuhe Sche…. aussieht.

Ich habe noch nie welche getragen, da ich Hosen und bequeme Stiefel oder Turnschuhe bevorzuge, aber was zum Teufel!

Haben die starken Frauen, die fuer Frauenrechte vor und in meiner Zeit gekaempft haben, nicht dafuer gekaempft, dass Frauen waehlen koennen, was sie wollen?

Wenn ich mich dafuer entscheide, hochhackige Schuhe zu tragen, dann sagt mir keiner ~ und ich betone “KEINER” ~ nicht mal eine gutmeinende Feministin ~ was ich anziehen soll!

Last year I had announced in big letters on my twitter update that I would not get one ever as I prefer reading proper books.

Whenever I take my Kindle in my hands and read I think about my pledge "No Kindle in my house!". Well I broke that one surely. But well there is no chance if you want to read interesting new authors who today quite often do not publish in hard- or paperback any more. And that idea that less trees have to die for books does appeal to me definitely :-)/ Wann immer ich meinen Kindle in die Hand nehme denke ich an meinen Schwur, dass mir kein Kindle ins Haus kommt. Tja den Schwur habe ich sicherlich gebrochen aber was tut frau nicht alles, wenn sie neue und interessante Autoren lesen will, die heutzutage kaum noch gedruckt veroeffentlicht werden. Und die Idee, dass nicht mehr so viele Baeume fuer Buecher sterben muessen kommt bei mir irgendwie gut an

After reading that old blog post about the platypus yesterday I got really excited about writing more funny things. I am known for being grumpy, depressed and what not. I think it’s time I change my tune (which actually is the message of playtpus as an animal spirit guide ).

Unfortunately for me systems are slow to change and my psychological system definitely. So I came to remember that there are still about 79 or so “Thank you”‘s to be said on this blog. I better get going….

The next goes to Kate who writes on Frame Tales so persistently about her writing and her life. Worth visiting I say!

Nachdem ich gestern den alten Eintrag ueber das Schnabeltier gelesen habe, habe ich grosse Lust bekommen, mehr Lustiges zu schreiben. Ich bin bekannt dafuer, brummig und depressiv und was auch immer zu sein. Ich denke es ist Zeit, dass ich da was aendere (was im Uebrigen die Nachricht des animal spirit guides Schnabeltier ist ).

Ungluecklicherweise aendern sich Systeme nur langsam und meine psychologisches System ist superlangsam. Da habe ich mich doch glatt daran erinnert, dass ich noch so ungefaehr 79 oder so “Danke Schoen”‘s sagen muss in diesem Blog. Da fange ich dann lieber mal an….

Das naechste geht an Kate, die in den Frame Tales so ausdauernd ueber ihr Schreiben und Leben schreibt. Bitte schaut mal vorbei!

A week in a busy platypus’s life/Eine Woche im Leben eines beschaeftigten Schnabeltiers

Silly blogger-lady! “Accidentally” pushed me off my favourite rock when she sat down to write a Smiley Sociology Study about rare animals. Put my spur at my hind foot to good use and incapacitated her. Shame my venom is not lethal to humans!
Monday:
The wife left for her baby burrow. Never understood her fussing about the eggs. I am bored. Retrieved the silly blogger-lady’s laptop and got online. I have to write the entry for the Smiley Sociology Study as she is still in hospital. That will keep me occupied!
Tuesday:
Gave Steve Backshall and his team the runaround as they tried to catch some footage of me for Deadly 60. They talk so much with each other I can come up for air for hours and they would not see me (didn’t they realise I am nocturnal????) But no matter what: I really do NOT look like a duck!
Wednesday:
Blogger plays up! Can’t write!
Thursday:
At last! Found Wikipedia! But what are they on about?  Duck-billed,  beaver-tailed,  otter-footed? My appearance is very convenient in this special environment! And I am sure none of those geeks win a Miss Tasmania Competition!
Friday:
Send Rodney the kangaroo to East Ocean Restaurant. He always causes some queues on Sidney’s streets but their Chinese even makes me forget the wife’s shrimps and yabbies.
Saturday:
The police is in the forest around the lake. Apparently they look for the silly blogger-lady’s laptop. Alas all good things have to come to an end! Well I better head off for my burrow. …..

Sonntag: Bloede Blogger-Tante! Hat mich “aus Versehen” von meinem Lieblingsstein geschubst, als sie sich hinsetzte, um ein  Smiley Sociology Study ueber seltene Tiere zu schreiben. Habe meinen Sporn am Hinterfuss gut genutzt und sie unschaedlich gemacht. Schade nur, dass mein Gift nicht fuer Menschen toedlich ist!

Montag:

Die Alte ist zurueck in ihrem Baby-Nest. Keine Ahnung, warum sie so einen Aufstand um die Eier macht. Bin gelangweilt. Hab das Laptop der bloeden Blogger-Tante gefunden und bin online gegangen. Ich muss jetzt wohl den Eintrag fuer das Smiley Sociology Study schreiben, da sie ja immer noch im Krankenhaus ist. Das wird mich ‘ne Weile beschaeftigen!

Dienstag:

Habe Steve Backshall und sein Team ein wenig rumgejagt, als sie versuchten, mich fuer  Deadly 60 zu filmen. Die reden so viel miteinander, dass ich stundenlang zum Atmen hochkommen konnte, ohne dass sie mich sahen (wissen die eigentlich nicht, dass ich nachtaktiv bin?). Wie auch immer: Ich sehe NICHT aus wie eine Ente!

Mittwoch:

Blogger funktioniert nicht! Kann nicht schreiben!

Donnerstag:

Na endlich! Habe Wikipedia gefunden! Aber was zum Dackel schreiben die da? Schnabel wie ‘ne Ente, Schwanz wie ein Biber und Fuesse wie ein Otter? Mein Koerper ist ideal fuer diese spezielle Umgebung! Und keiner von diesen Computer-Freaks gewinnt einen Miss Tasmania Wettbewerb!

Freitag:

Habe Rodney das Kaenguruh zum East Ocean Restaurant geschickt. Er produziert zwar immer ein paar Stau’s in Sidney aber deren chinesisches Take-Away laesst mich sogar die Shrimps und Yabbies der Alten vergessen!

Samstag:

Die Polizei ist im Wald am See. Sie suchen offenbar nach dem Laptop der bloeden Blogger-Tante. Tja alles Gute muss mal enden. Ich mache mich besser duenne und suche mein Nest auf……
